Cyban sensor

The software equivalent to a black-box for your devices, monitoring and feeding measurements back to a central cloud server for processing.

Let Cyban keep an eye on your cyber risk

The Cyban sensor is an all-in-one lightweight software agent for detection, measuring and monitoring of cyber risk. The sensor is installed on all the devices you want to monitor and runs unobtrusively in the background, monitoring and auditing the ever-changing security posture of your devices.

Each installed sensor feeds measurements back to our secure Cyban cloud server. The feeds are processed in the cloud in near real-time by Cyban AI and the resulting cyber risk insights are then accessible via the Cyban dashboard.

Monitoring your operating system and software applications

Once installed on a device, the Cyban sensor finds and monitors the device’s setup, security and all the software applications installed on the device. The sensor does all this automatically without having to be configured or told anything about how the device is setup.

The sensor regularly checks the operating system and software applications so that Cyban can report to you out-of-date software, along with weaknesses and vulnerabilities to a cyber intrusion. Out-of-date operating systems and software expose you to cyber vulnerabilities that are fixed in the latest patches and updates.

Monitoring your data exposure

The Cyban sensor is capable of locating many commonly used file types that may contain data and detects if they contain sensitive information that a cyber attacker may be interested in, such as credit card details, email addresses, etc.

We regularly enhance the sensor’s capabilities but it is already capable of monitoring commonly used data sources including spreadsheets, documents, text files, CSV and more.

Your business data

Your data stays on your devices. The Cyban sensor does not extract, copy or transmit any of your business data assets. The sensor simply measures and monitors your data and cyber risk. It only feeds its measurements back to the Cyban dashboard, not your actual data.

Easy setup

The sensor can be installed on servers, desktops, laptops and mobile devices that use Android, macOS or Windows. Apple iOS an Linux are not currently supported but will be in future.

Installation of the sensor requires just a few clicks. You will be prompted for an account key to activate the sensor. That’s it, no configuration or setup is required. The sensor typically operates when the device is idle to minimise interference with day-to-day operation of a device.

The sensor checks devices and starts feeding information to the Cyban dashboard immediately but for complete results to be available, the sensor typically needs an initial operating period of 24 hours.
